Don't be fooled by this animated exterior, this is not a film aimed directly at kids as its PG rating suggests. Sure, some children may find this an entertaining adventure, but I daresay the older audience would be sure to take more gratification and enjoyment out of this one.
The 3D element really does provide a nice change and a gift for the eyes. Everyone loves a good novelty and when you chuck on those glasses it takes the whole movie experience to a new level.

It's a modern day fairytale about a young girl, Coraline, who has moved into a new house with her parents. Unfortunately for the energetic and explorative Coraline, both her parents are constantly busy working and the only other kid in the neighbourhood is oddly behaved Wybie. Craving some fun, Coraline discovers a secret trap door in her house that leads her to an alternate universe. Initially, it seems exactly the same as her other world, but on closer inspection it is nothing like it. Here, Coraline meets her other mother (exactly the same appearance as her regular mother but with buttons as eyes!) who cooks and plays and gives Coraline everything she desires. From this perspective, everything seems perfect, but with the help from a sneaky cat, Coraline discovers that this world isn't everything she thought it was. The only problem she faces now is whether it's too late to turn back!

It's a really, clever enjoyable film. Very creepy at times and certainly has some jumpy moments that are only enhanced by the beauty of 3D.

Such a nice change for a cinema experience, this spooky adventure is a lot of fun for people of all ages to enjoy.
